Introduction
In 1937, when Westbridge was established John Brocklehurst, opened one of the very first petrol filling ststions in Northampton.
Back in those days it was a fully attended service.
The company went on to develop its forecourt division, as was the first in the town to be self service for the fuel. It also had a traditional forecourt shop which sold sweets and snacks to the motorist.
In 1998 the site on St James Road, was extensively redeveloped. It not only sells the normal items which you would associate with forecourts but also includes, an off licence and even an instore bakery.
Then in 2006 it was with great pride that the site was named as "Forecourt of the Year". This is the highest accolade that a forecourt operator can achieve and is something which the company is extremely proud of.
The Forecourt and Store is currently managed by Tates Ltd.
